Director's note

Living for decades in front of a river (in this case the Tagus) allows us to monitor very closely how it has evolved over the time and how it is gaining or losing its importance in the lives of the inhabitants of the city. The fact that over the past 12 years, we have gone through the collective experience of an economic crisis at the national level, stimulated by a global systemic crisis, has allowed us to witness a growing role that the river has come to play as a natural resource and source of livelihood, with hundreds of individuals affected by the crisis and suddenly caught up in poverty.
