Director's note

In “Encounters Lost in Time”, I explore my own history as a Portuguese in Japan, through historical events and myths. I travelled to Japan and found my own country, Portugal. The intention is not to make a biographical, educational, scientific or nationalist documentary, but to evoke the Age of Discovery, to tell a personal story.
