Synopsis
The movie depicts a Serbian choir, The Singing Women of Požega, a group of enthusiastic elderly women full of life who share their daily routine with us. Through poetic pictures, seasoned with a lot of humour, we learn about their views of love, joy as well as the ephemerality of life.
Bio-filmography of the director
Luka Popadić was born of Serbian parents and grew up in Baden, Switzerland. After studying political science in Zurich, he enrolled at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade as a film director, and earned his M.A. in 2014. During his studies, he made films that have been shown at more than 70 festivals around the world and awarded 20 times (The Golden Medal of Belgrade, Bronze Egg at the Küstendorf Film Festival, the Audience Award in Beijing). Upon graduation, he worked as an assistant to Želimir Žilnik in Serbia and Africa. He is currently preparing the production of his first feature film.
