Filmes do Gajo is a film company dedicated to cinema founded in 2011.


Since its foundation, this cinema company produced the documentary Histórias de Lobos / Histories of Wolves (2018, directed by Agnes Meng, 22 minutes, with premiere at 25th Hotdocs Canadian International Documentary Festival and awarded Best International Short Documentary at 21st Guanajuato International Film Festival), John 746 (2017, directed by Ana Vîjdea, 33 minutes, premiered and awarded Best Young Director at 15th Doclisboa), Rehearsals (2015, directed by Ana-Maria Vîjdea, 60 minutes, with premiere at 55th Krakow Film Festival), Circus Debere Berhan (2015, directed by Lukas Berger, 11 minutes, with premiere at 20th Milano Film Festival), Onde o Meu Amigo Pintou Um Quadro / Where My Friend Made a Painting (2014, directed by Pedro Florêncio, presented in the festivals of 9 countries and awarded in Romania), O lugar que se mantém profundamente inalterado perante a minha passagem circunstancial Ou uma de nos vermos a nós próprios dentro do fora de campo / The place that remains deeply unchanged before my random passage or one way to see ourselves within the out of field (2014, directed by Mário Gajo de Carvalho, presented in the festivals of 10 countries), Silêncios de um Gesto / Silences of a Gesture (2014, directed by Pedro Sousa, presented in the festivals of 9 countries), Alegria do Lar / The joy of a home (2013, directed by Ana Isabel Martins, presented in festivals of 8 countries and awarded in Portugal).



The objectives of this company are: the enhancement, the visibility and the rooting of Portuguese Cinema in Portuguese Society, the contribution by the means of Cinema to a greater visibility and awareness of the Portugal culture and language abroad, the achievement of international relevance through co-productions and accessibility of its films.
